Privacy Policy for Know Your IP
Last Updated: August 21, 2025
1. Introduction
Welcome to Know Your IP. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information about you when you use our mobile application ("the App"). Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting it.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in a few different ways to provide and improve our services to you.
Information Collected Automatically
- Public Network Information: When you use the App, we automatically fetch your public IP address. This IP address is then used to retrieve related data such as your Internet Service Provider (ISP), approximate geographical location (city, region, country), and network type.
- Local Network Information: The App accesses your local network configuration to display details like your private IP address, gateway IP, and subnet mask. This information is read from your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Device Information: We display your device's name and operating system version within the App for your reference. This data is read directly from your device.
Information You Provide
- Tool Inputs: When you use network diagnostic tools within the App, such as Ping, Traceroute, Port Scanner, or Whois, you provide a hostname or IP address for the tool to analyze.
Information Stored Locally
- Test History: The results of the tests you perform (e.g., speed tests, pings, port scans) are stored locally on your device. This history is for your convenience and is not transmitted to us. You have full control to view and delete this history from within the App.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide the core functionality of the App, which is to display your network details and perform network diagnostics.
- To operate and maintain the App.
- To allow you to review your past test results, which are stored on your device.
4. Information Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. We may share or use third-party services to provide certain features of the App.
- IP Information Services: To provide you with details about your public IP address (like ISP and location), we send your IP address to third-party services such as ipinfo.io and ipify.org. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
- Speed Test Functionality: The speed test feature is powered by the Speedchecker SDK. When you run a speed test, your network information is processed by them to provide the results. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policy.
- Localization: We use the CMSCureSDK to provide multi-language support in the app. This service is used to fetch display text and does not involve the collection of personal user data.
We are not responsible for the data practices of these third-party services.
5. Data Security
We value your trust in providing us your information. All test history is stored locally on your device, giving you control over it. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting your information, remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to control your information:
- Clear History: You can delete your entire test history at any time from the "History" tab within the App.
- Limit Data Collection: You can choose not to use specific tools if you do not want the associated data (e.g., the target hostname) to be processed.
7. Children's Privacy
Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
